Shoggoth

A Shoggoth — or possibly a proto-Shoggoth — was the entity H-Cell encountered and fought in a mission prior to the H-Cell Chronicle's main arc. Hanover identified it retrospectively using an Occult skill check, placing a name on the creature they had previously encountered in what she recalled as the inner sanctum of the Church of the Twelve Martyrs. The identification matters because when Hanover later examines the filament heart at the PISCES containment facility in Weymouth, the sense of wrongness it provokes triggers a direct memory of that Shoggoth encounter — suggesting a common nature or origin between the two. The group discusses whether Shoggoths and other Mythos entities coexist peacefully or compete, but acknowledges they have no reliable way of knowing.
