Desert Camp

The Desert Camp is the Hedgehog SOE team's forward operating base in the Egyptian Desert, south of the Kata Depression, where H-Cell rendezvous with Captain Aldridge and his men. It is a field camp with vehicles including a stolen German truck towing an anti-aircraft gun. Here Aldridge briefed the combined force on available ordnance and approach routes to the Oasis of Whispers, and it is from this position that the final assault was staged. Haze took the first watch on the night before the assault, noting an intentional silence over the desert — an ominous sign of what was to come.
