Montgomery

Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery is the commander of the British Eighth Army and a figure of historical consequence in the campaign's WWII setting. He appears only in reference rather than in person: Finch notes that Montgomery's advance on Rommel's forces provides the operational window for H-Cell's mission to the Oasis, as the coming battle will eventually overrun the Karotechia position if they fail to act. Daisy's brother serves in the Africa Corps and she hopes Monty will see him home safely — a humanising detail in an otherwise military-operational context.
